The Journey to B Corp Certification

At Profyle Card, we believe that businesses should fundamentally contribute to the betterment of society. Our ethos reflects our commitment to this belief. So in early 2024, we commenced our endeavour to attain B Corp certification, translating our values into concrete actions.

The Essence of a B Corp

B Corps represent enterprises that adhere to the most stringent standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. These businesses strive to harmonise profit and purpose, ensuring that all stakeholders—not merely shareholders—benefit from their operations. 

The B Corp ethos demands a legal commitment to positively impact both people and the planet, considering the welfare of employees, suppliers, customers, and the broader community.

Our Certification Journey

The pursuit of B Corp certification is an exacting and comprehensive process. Since early 2024, we have been diligently navigating this path. The application requires extensive documentation and evidence across various aspects of business operations, from governance and employee well-being to environmental stewardship and customer value creation. The assessment comprises over 200 questions evaluating policies, processes, and best practices.

Achieving certification necessitates a score of 80 or higher. Our initial score of 69, while falling short of the required benchmark, provides a clear roadmap for future improvement and underscores our accomplishments thus far.

We are fervently preparing for the next phase of growth and reapplication, aiming to surpass the certification threshold. Notably, B Corps must re-certify every three years, perpetually refining their practices. 

Milestones of Our Journey

Environmental Stewardship – We have been Carbon Neutral Certified for over four years, offsetting emissions from our entire operational history and future emissions for us and our clients.

Research & Development – We are committed to ongoing research and due diligence to produce our products using the most eco-friendly materials. We aim to launch a new BioPlastic card by Q4 2024.

Sustainable Packaging & Shipping – Since the beginning of 2024, all our shipping and packing materials are 100% recyclable, minimising our environmental impact.

Card Recycle Scheme – We are implementing a Card Recycle Scheme, enabling customers to return used cards for recycling and receive discounts on replacements.

Supporting B Corps and Charities – Certified B Corps and registered charities benefit from tailored discounts and promotional offers.

Innovative Solutions and Support – We have redefined traditional business cards by offering comprehensive digital and physical solutions, complemented by exceptional support for all users.

Employee Well-being – We prioritise being a relaxed, caring, and inclusive employer, recognising that a satisfied team is integral to delivering an outstanding product.
